Sunday thoughts
A friend recently sent me an Instagram post about finding happiness. About how finding happiness is a choice and how we need to find it on purpose and in the smallest of things. In reading a book, being outside, chasing the sun, dancing.
Some days, you find them all, yet life still feels incomplete somehow. YOU still feel incomplete. Do you know that feeling? When you don't know what it is; you can't quite put your finger on it – yet there is a piece that is missing. You know it is somewhere there. You just can't seem to find it in the immediate reality you are in.
Like if you were watching the most beautiful movie, but with the sound turned off. You know the sound is there, but life simply does not come with a remote to turn it on. Maybe some days, our ears are just too tired to hear it. And so you close your eyes and listen to the silence instead. You go take a walk, call a friend, or summon all the will you have to prepare yourself a fresh meal... and just sit in the silence and let your ears rest. And you keep resting until you can hear the music and identify the human whispers among the constant hum of the world again. And you know what? It is enough. It is enough to just walk, talk, and eat until you can listen and hear life again.
It is enough.
It is actually more than enough - it is life at its fullest. Just like music would not be music without the silences between the beats, some days you just need to watch the movie on mute and just be until the music comes back on, and then you can start to dance.
“You are enough. You have always been enough. You will always be enough. ”
